"Dick Dowling Monument" article
This article tells us that the Dick Dowling Monument Committee decided to erect a statue of Dick Dowling and place it at the intersection of Main Street and McKinney Avenue in Houston, Texas. A sum of $250 was easily raised by Col. Philip H. Fall. Sculptor Frank Teiche, of San Antonio, designed the monument. They planned to unveil it on Jefferson Davis's next birthday June 2, 1903.
