This exhibit presents a sampling from the History of Science Book Collection. Starting with Hyginus' Poeticon Astronomicon (1517) and ending with Flamsteed's Atlas Celeste (1795) the books selected for this exhibit illustrate some of the important developments in science during the 16-18th centuries. Selected illustrations, title pages, and frontispieces highlight not only the revolutionary thinking contained within the texts, but also the artistry of the woodcuts, printing, and craftmanship of the printed works.
